The Grocery Manufacturers Association Science and Education Foundation (GMA SEF) seeks an Education Program Manager to oversee the development and dissemination of the Hands On: Real World Lessons for Middle School Classrooms suite of curricula and to manage the day-to-day operations of the Hands On program. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations and will also be responsible for providing support to other GMA SEF programs and projects as needed. This is a regular, full-time position.
Essential Functions include:
Development and dissemination of the full suite of Hands On curricula •Develop new curriculum focusing on food safety, nutrition and other food science related topics •Pilot test curriculum, collect and analyze data to measure curricular impact and effectiveness •Disseminate curricula and deliver teacher training
Manage daily operations of the Hands On Program •Ensure all deliverables are met and milestones reached according to timeline •Manage program finances to ensure all program expenses are within budget •Coordinate fulfillment of food safety kits •Contribute to presentations and reports about the Hands On program to funders and SEF Board. •In coordination with SEF Director of Operations and Executive Director, develop and execute fundraising strategy for Hands On •Manage contracts and agreements with funders and donors •Respond to inquiries about the Hands On program
Manage Hands On website and curriculum download portal and other web and social media presences. •Work with PFSE on all Hands On Food Safety Curriculum downloads •Maintain up-to-date teacher contact database •Maintain www.handsonclassrooms.org •Maintain social media presence for Hands On •Create and develop online/video-based training as needed
In collaboration with the Director of Operations, develop and manager other SEF education programs including but not limited to Apprenticeship Program, fellowships, internships and webinars. •Work with GMA member companies and other stakeholders to develop a working model for Registered Apprenticeships •Convene meetings and calls for member input •Seek collaborations with Federal and State entities •Coordinate development of sponsored webinars and oversee implementation
Provide programmatic support on other SEF programs and initiatives •Work with Accounting to prepare and update project activity sheets •Manage contracts and contract approvals as needed •Assist in coordination of training program logistics, these include BPCS, sanitation operators training and Thermal Processing Professional training. •Provide subject matter expertise on design of operator-level food safety training curricula •Other functions that may be required from time to time to support the SEF Team

Experience •A minimum of 2-years of experience in curriculum design and implementation, especially at the middle school level •Experience working with middle school teachers and students strongly desired •Experience managing grant-funded project strongly desired
Skills •Project management knowledge preferred. •Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio; •Excellent oral and written communication skills
Abilities •Ability to work independently with minimal supervision •Ability to work in a team environment •Ability to organize and prioritize high volume workload
