Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA)
GMA is hiring a new Coordinator, Database and Member Value Creation
We are seeking candidates to coordinate the lifeblood of GMA -- the association’s membership database (MatrixMaxx). The person who steps into this opportunity will work with our Member Value Creation team to update, maintain and report on the most up-to-date and accurate membership data and produce the best mailing lists. This important role will be integral to the annual membership dues invoice production and collection process and will establish conference and training event registration platforms and registration sites, produce event registration reports and assist event registrants.
Clearly, this is not just another data entry job…
It’s so much more:
•The MatrixMaxx Membership Database – maintain and administer to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate information about GMA members, past members, member prospects and other important association contacts. Here you will collect and input new and updated data, implement a process to monitor data integrity and periodically review database content for accuracy, scan trade publications and news reports for corporate and executive changes, run reports and mailing lists, and create presentations using presentation software such as PowerPoint.
•Conference and Training Event Registration – create registration sites per project plans with information provided by event managers, process registrations, and assist registrants with questions as service issues as needed. Here you will build registration sites and information pages in collaboration with event leaders and GMA marketing team, process and provide confirmations quickly and accurately to all registrants, ensure all payments are collected and recorded timely, use registrant information to update the MatrixMaxx database, track registration counts and produce related reports, and answer phone and email questions from registrants or other interested parties.
•GMA’s Annual Membership Dues Invoicing – work with senior leadership to make this process happen timely and accurately. Here you will prepare and distribute annual dues invoices following a standard process, provide regular follow-up on payments that are pending, and escalate any non-payment issues for follow up by the Member Value Creation team.
•Train Other GMA Employees to Use MatrixMaxx – ensure that everyone who needs to use the membership database knows how. Essentially, you are the MatrixMaxx Help Desk. Here you will provide one-on-one training to new hires and present refresher training to other employees as needed, develop a team of “database liaisons” that represent a cross-section of users, provide updates on new and improved database features to your colleagues, and coordinate more in-depth training with external vendors if needed.
The best candidates for this position will have at least 3 years of related work experience that demonstrates your ability and success with a relational database or contact management system.
You should enjoy doing data entry and take great pride in maintaining a data set that is accurate and up-to-date.
You should have the ability to think about how the data will be used, to create informative reports that are the basis for management decision making, and to develop new data and reporting of value to senior leadership.
You should have a knack for helping others understand what the database contains – and for teaching them how to use it.
We will expect that you have excellent data entry speed and accuracy and that you can use MS Suite of office applications such as Outlook, Explorer, PowerPoint and Excel.
Our first choice for this role will be someone who has experience with MatrixMaxx and who possessed strong interpersonal communication skills and well-developed critical thinking ability.
We need a person who can use accurate, up-to-date data and turn it into compelling reports and presentations.
Finally, we know that the best new member of our team will want what we have to offer at GMA – a friendly and flexible work environment, challenging projects that require hard work, a collaborative, team-based atmosphere, opportunities to learn and grow and a great compensation and benefits package to go with it.
