The manager, digital communications is responsible for executing a full range of digital assignments to support GMA’s strategic priorities. Reporting directly to the vice president, communications and research, the manager will maintain the organization’s digital platforms and generate insights about and plans to enhance their use and effectiveness.
Key areas of responsibility:
Website Content Management
Assist in the design and development of new organization website.
Research, develop and update content for GMA’s websites based on content strategies and editorial calendar.
Develop an on-going strategy for ensuring the website’s content is current, consistent, audience-appropriate and accurate.
Ensure all new communications (blog posts, press releases, research reports) are represented accurately and posted in a timely manner.
Partner with internal divisions on current research programs, projects, and policy issues, and develop clear and concise digital representation of those initiatives.
Social Media Content Management
Manage GMA’s ongoing social media presence, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Manage social media campaigns as needed.
Marketing and Analytics
Monitor utilization and effectiveness of websites and key web pages using Google Analytics; identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations.
Manage and deploy GMA’s email marketing communications and provide regular performance analysis.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
4+ years in communications role with increasing responsibility required
Proficiency with software including HTML, CSS, Drupal and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Premiere)
Proficiency with social media tools used to maximize effectiveness of the channels (HootSuite, Nuvi, etc.)
Experience with Google analytics
Skills: Excellent written communications skills
Superior project management skills including the ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage deadlines and budgets, and work with little supervision
Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and to build and maintain strong relationships with members and other key stakeholders
